Your Firm Shouldn't Have to Teach Its Bookkeeper How a Law Practice Works.

Law-firm bookkeeping isn't the same as bookkeeping for every other business.

Client retainers, IOLTA accounts, billing systems, operating accounts, and practice-management software all have to work together. When one piece is off, finding the cause often requires understanding how the entire system fits together.

That's where Mill Stone Bookkeeping comes in.

We maintain the books, reconcile accounts, and pay attention to the details that can signal a larger issue. You get dependable financial records and experienced support grounded in the way law firms actually operate.

Specialized Bookkeeping Support for Your Law Firm

From keeping your books current each month to correcting records that have fallen behind, Mill Stone Bookkeeping provides the specialized support your firm needs to maintain reliable financial information.

Ongoing Law Firm Bookkeeping

Keep your day-to-day financial records current while you stay focused on running the practice.

Ongoing support may include transaction categorization, expense tracking, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and coordination with the systems your firm uses.

IOLTA Trust Account Bookkeeping

Trust accounts require careful attention to both the funds being held and the corresponding client liabilities.

We maintain and reconcile IOLTA accounts and help identify discrepancies when trust balances and liability records don't align.

Bookkeeping Cleanup & Troubleshooting

If your books have fallen behind or something doesn't look right, Mill Stone can review your records, identify discrepancies, and work through the cleanup process.

We can also help investigate billing issues, improve processes, and assist with QuickBooks data migrations.

WHY MILL STONE

Trust-Account Precision. Law-Firm Knowledge. Proactive Problem-Solving.

Familiar With the Details That Make Legal Bookkeeping Different

Working with law firms has given Mill Stone Bookkeeping firsthand familiarity with trust accounting, retainers, billing systems, financial reporting, and the other details that shape a legal practice's books. That means less explaining on your end and support that's already grounded in your industry.

We Look Beyond the Transaction

Accurate data entry matters, but good bookkeeping also requires recognizing when something doesn't look right. We investigate discrepancies, look for the underlying cause, and help address processes that may be creating recurring problems.

Direct Access to the People Doing the Work

You won't be passed through layers of account managers when you have a question. Mill Stone provides direct, responsive communication with the people involved in your books.

Clear Scope. Predictable Pricing.

Ongoing bookkeeping is priced at a flat monthly rate, while cleanup engagements use a flat project fee. Your scope and pricing are determined after we learn about your firm and review the condition of your books.
